On January 31, 2016, my doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Instructional Technology and Distance Education, was conferred by the Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am confident that the knowledge and experiences that I garnered from from my study will empower me to make meaningful changes in education systems across the globe, more so, in Jamaica.

This portfolio is a compilation of five (5) years of struggle, persistence, dedication, and hard work to understand and appreciate the value and purpose of technology and media in education. At the onset, I wrestled relentlessly with one of the fundamental concepts of media and learning, that "...media are mere vehicles that deliver instruction but do not influence student achievement anymore than a truck that delivers our groceries causes changes in our nutrition" (Clark, 2001, p. 2).

As I delved deeper into the issue of media and learning, I was able to appreciate the fact that media do not influence students' achievement, but it is the content of the media that will determine learning outcome.

For me, learning is a continuous process. I strongly believe that distance education, as a disruptive technology, can revolutionize our education systems. Distance education have been enabling working professionals and other individuals, who have long been incapacitated by geographical distance, to obtain the highest level of quality education from international institutions.

For all things I have the strength, by virtue of Him who imparts power to me. --Phil. 4:13.
